Study: “Non-Sectarian and Progressive Political Actors in Lebanon”

Following up the “You Stink” movement resulting from the garbage crisis that hit Beirut in 2015, this study by Miriam Younes and Maya al Helou takes a close look at political activism in Lebanon, at the possibilities of organizing outside of sectarian boundaries and on the ongoing transformations since 2015. Based on interviews with 12 active members of different collective groups, it highlights the implications of their survival or disintegration in an emerging neo-liberal Lebanese system.
