Parliamentary Elections

15 May 2022

The 2022 elections were the first to be held after the uprising and economic collapse the country faced since 2019. Although the alignment of the traditional political cast together is evident, there has been a group of independent individuals with alternative political stance who were running for the parliament and who have been active participants in the uprising. Although the majority of parliamentary seats were taken by traditional political parties the results indicated positive breakthroughs and progress and several nuances, indicating that much greater change is still needed to put the country on a steady path to recovery.
